YAWI offers skills to women and girls to ensure they secure sustainable source of income. One of the current project is provision of an alternative source of livelihood for low income women in slum areas in Nakuru town county by equipping them with tailoring skills, entrepreneurial skills and capital to establish viable and profitable business in tote bag manufacturing and distributions. Most of these women have little or no education at all and they rely on odd jobs or poorly run business to fed for their families. The burn of plastic bags was a blow in their source of income since, they mostly depended on jobs in production process and retailing. Their vulnerability and the mare fact they have no skills qualifies them for this project so that they can trained.
